Finish reading the Twits
We read up to chapter 18 (Still no bird pie for Mr Twit)
 
 Year 1 and 2 - Write a book review in your literacy book

What do you need to include?

  • The title of the book and the author.
  • Who is the main characters?
  • Where is the story set?
  • What was your favourite part of the story?
  • How could it be improved?
  • Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why?

 

Year 2 - Complete the comprehension activity attached. Some questions will need to be answered in your literacy book and some can be answered on the sheet attached. Don't forget to write in full sentences!

 

Maths
 
Practise measuring in cm using the interactive ruler (link below)
 
 
 Year 1 - Can you find objects around the house and measure them in non standard units (using paperclips, pencils, lego etc...
Can you estimate their length before checking with a ruler?
 
Complete the worksheet to practise.
 
Year 2 - Can you find objects around the house to measure? Can you estimate their length before checking with a ruler?
Put the objects in order of size.
 
 
 
Times Table Practise
 
Use top marks to practise the 2, 5 and 10 times tables.
 
Year 2 can also access games to practise the 3 times table.
 
 
Phonics
 
Year 1 - Access the phonics play website using the free login below. 
 
 
Parents can set up a free username using username: march20 Password: home
 
Play phase 5 'Train your Brain' to practise tricky words that we have been learning in school.
Buried Treasure and Picnic on Pluto are great for practising blending both real and nonsense words.
Topic Work
 
Work through the activities on the Victorian homework web attached. 
You can choose as many activities as you like.
 
Please try to complete at least 2 activities but there is no expectation to complete them all!
