Performance Data

You can view Newbrough C of E Primary School’s performance data by following this link to the DfE Compare School Performance website.

As a small village school, our year groups are often made up of very small numbers of pupils. This means that the published performance data does not always provide a reliable or meaningful picture of achievement when compared to national figures or larger schools. A single pupil’s result can have a significant impact on percentages, making the data statistically less valid for comparison purposes.

While the government still publishes this information for transparency, it is important to understand the limitations of the data. We encourage parents to look beyond the numbers and consider the wider strengths of our school, including our nurturing environment, the broad and engaging curriculum, and the strong progress our pupils make as individuals.

Ofsted fully recognises the unique context of small schools and takes cohort size into account when considering performance data. Inspectors focus on the quality of education, the progress of individual pupils, and the broader picture of school life rather than relying solely on published statistics.
