Physical Education

Our PE curriculum is well-rounded and incorporates the teaching of all core physical education skills, ensuring age-appropriate development across all year groups. We believe that through a variety of opportunities taught during our diverse PE lessons, our children will learn a variety of skills and enjoy a range of experiences when playing in competitive sports. As well as this, our children will develop a sense of personal achievement and an understanding of  how to work as a team and gain resilience and perseverance. This year, we have introduced  'Commando Joe's' to our school, which is a scheme using a range of missions and challenges to encourage the children to think outside the box and work with their team to problem solve. These missions focus on famous explorers and teaches the children empathy, resilience, kindness and fortitude with an aim to help them to become the best versions of themselves.

We are passionate about giving all children in our school a range of opportunities to grow and find their own strengths and passions. Therefore we offer everyone in school the chance to experience other activities such as climbing an 8 meter climbing wall and boxing classes. We are also striving to ensure that a range of extra curricular activities are available for all ages after school and during lunch times. These are led by our 'Sports Crew' and skilled, external coaches.

Children are encouraged  to take part in competitive sport against different schools in our area. We have also enjoyed organising our own activities in school such as the ‘Santa Dash’ and other tournaments.

We are proud to have been awarded a School Games Award for 2023/2024.
